Job summary

Jane Street is seeking a hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen the security posture of its applications, data, infrastructure and processes. The role focuses on identifying threats, modeling risk, and building secure solutions with cross-team collaboration.

You will work with the cybersecurity team to translate security principles into concrete architectural improvements and guide design decisions throughout the firm.

Qualifications

• Offensive security background.
• Experience building and implementing secure solutions from the ground up.
• Ability to break down complex problems on a whiteboard and apply hands-on problem-solving.
• Skilled at evaluating security tradeoffs and making risk-based decisions.
• Excellent communicator with collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships.
• Ability to teach threat modeling to others.
• Strong Linux background and scripting ability.
• Ability to document decision-making rationale.
• Programming language proficiency is a plus.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across applications, data, infrastructure, and processes.
• Lead threat modeling efforts and translate security principles into architectural improvements.
• Partner with system teams to analyze security implications of designs and balance security with business needs.
• Build security into applications from ground up and guide DevOps practices with security in mind.
