Job summary

ASK IT LIMITED's client, a reputable financial institution, seeks a Technology Excellence Analyst (AI) to translate business needs into practical AI-enabled solutions within the finance domain.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, technology teams and business users to support data analytics, process improvements and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (CS/IS/Data Science/Finance/Business).
• Experience in business/data analysis, project coordination or banking/fintech is preferred.
• Hands-on with Python, SQL, Excel/VBA, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts, automation tools and analytics platforms is a plus.
• Experience preparing BRD, functional specs, data mapping, test cases or UAT docs.
• Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, Power Automate, Bloomberg or Google Analytics is advantageous.
• Knowledge of banking products, risk management, financial reporting or regulatory reporting is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with IT, business users and vendors.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in English and Chinese; Putonghua is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Gather, clarify and document requirements for technology, data analytics and AI initiatives.
• Prepare BRD, functional specs, data mapping and user guides.
• Support data analysis tasks including profiling, cleansing and impact analysis.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation or analytics to improve operations.
• Coordinate with IT teams and vendors for development and testing.
• Develop and execute SIT and assist in UAT, including issue tracking.
• Support dashboards, reporting and BI initiatives with data interpretation.
• Monitor progress and escalate risks to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on market trends in data analytics and fintech.

Job description

Our client, a reputable financial institution, is looking for a Technology Excellence Analyst (AI) to support technology enhancement, data analytics, business analysis and AI-related initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams and business users to translate business needs into practical solutions, support project delivery and contribute to data-driven process improvement.

Responsibilities:

· Gather, clarify and document business requirements from users and stakeholders for technology, data analytics and AI-related initiatives.

· Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, data mapping documents, user guides and other project documentation.

· Support data analysis tasks, including data profiling, data validation, data mapping, data cleansing and impact analysis for system enhancement or implementation projects.

· Assist in identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation or analytics tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting quality and user experience.

· Work with IT teams and vendors to coordinate system development, testing and implementation activities.

· Develop and execute test cases for SIT and support UAT activities, including issue tracking, defect follow-up and production support where required.

· Support dashboard, reporting and business intelligence initiatives, including data interpretation and presentation of findings to users.

· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and aligned with business objectives.

· Monitor project progress, prepare status updates and escalate risks or issues in a timely and professional manner.

· Keep abreast of market trends in data analytics, AI tools and financial technology applications.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

· Relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, project coordination, system implementation, banking technology, fintech or financial services is preferred.

· Hands-on knowledge of data analysis tools or programming languages such as Python, SQL, Excel/VBA, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.

· Basic understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, automation tools, analytics platforms or practical AI use cases is an advantage; deep AI engineering experience is not required.

· Experience in preparing BRD, functional specification, data mapping, test cases, UAT documentation or project-related documents is an advantage.

· Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, Power Automate, Bloomberg, Google Analytics or similar platforms.

· Knowledge of banking products, risk management, financial reporting, treasury products, regulatory reporting or financial systems will be beneficial.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users, IT teams and external vendors.

· Detail-oriented, proactive, well-organised and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Good analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with willingness to learn new technologies and business domains.

· Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Putonghua is an advantage.
