Job summary

Carmel School in Hong Kong urgently seeks a Supply Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) for the Elementary School at 10 Borrett Road, Mid-Levels, from late October 2026 to early February 2027. You will support the classroom teacher with activities and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate is a high school graduate or above, with proven experience with children and fluent English.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or above.
• Previous experience of working with children.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least 1 year relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the classroom teacher with educational activities for the students and the provision of a high standard of display within the classroom.
• Assisting the classroom teacher in the safety and discipline of the class at all times when you are present.
• Reinforcing the subject matter taught in the class on a one-to-one basis with students or in small groups.
• Assisting with individualizing the classroom program.
• Other duties as may reasonably be given out by the Head of Elementary, the relevant administrator or the classroom teacher.
