Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) seeks a hands-on Software Engineer to build tooling for production datasets, ensuring quality, observability, and reliability. You will collaborate with engineering teams and quants to deliver a mission-critical platform preventing material trading losses.

Key duties include developing data-quality platforms, maintaining shared libraries, and creating integrations with other teams’ processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• Experience in software engineering; exposure to financial data is a plus.
• Strong computer science fundamentals; proficient in Python and Rust.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration and cloud infrastructure.
• Exposure to front-end dashboards is a plus.
• Knowledge of data-quality frameworks (Soda/Great Expectations) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; ability to work autonomously in a global team.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining a platform which ensures the quality and correctness of datasets, and alerts stakeholders to critical production issues.
• Maintaining and improving shared libraries used by developers across the data-function.
• Designing, building, and documenting integrations with other team’s processes to alert them to data-pipeline issues.
• Supporting users in best practice usage of tooling, migrating code to the latest standards and resolving platform issues.

Your future role at QRT:

We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join QRT. In this role you’ll build out the tooling that manages and monitors production datasets, keeping them flowing, observable, and reliable. You’ll work closely with other engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver a mission-critical platform that prevents material trading losses.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining a platform which ensures the quality and correctness of our datasets, and alerts stakeholders to critical production issues
• Maintaining and improving shared libraries which are used by developers across the data-function and facilitate the rapid onboarding of new datasets
• Designing, building, and documenting our integrations with other team’s processes, which alert them to relevant issues with our data-pipelines
• Supporting users in best practice usage of our tooling, migrating code to the latest standards as well as investigating, debugging and resolving issues with our platform

Your present skillset:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
• Previous experience in software engineering, exposure to financial data is a plus
• Strong computer science fundamentals and proficiency in Python/Rust
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure
• Exposure to the front-end, particularly with regards to custom monitoring dashboards, is a plus
• Knowledge of data-quality frameworks (Soda/Great Expectations) is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with other engineers, quants and traders
• Ability to work autonomously within a global team
