Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong is seeking a Settlement Specialist to oversee trade confirmation for HK/US securities and manage the full settlement cycle (HK T+2, US T+1). You will monitor and resolve settlement discrepancies, coordinate with clearing houses, custodians, and counterparties, and ensure compliance with SFC rules.

You will also lead the settlement team, drive process improvements, and handle corporate actions and reconciliations on a daily basis, contributing to a robust control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics.
• Experience with HK (T+2) and US (T+1) settlement cycles is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve settlement issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade confirmation and matching for HK/US securities and investigate/resolve trade exceptions.
• Manage the full settlement cycle for HK (T+2) and US (T+1); liaise with HKSCC/CCASS, US clearing brokers, custodians and counterparties.
• Monitor, follow up, and resolve settlement fails, breaks, and discrepancies; escalate material issues in a timely manner.
• Process dividends, stock splits, rights issues and other corporate actions including entitlement calculation and client allocation.
• Perform daily cash, securities and position reconciliation against clearing houses, custodians and internal records; ensure breaks are resolved promptly.
• Ensure settlement processes comply with SFC and market requirements; identify operational risks and support audits and regulatory reviews.
• Lead the settlement team, including work allocation, scheduling, KPI setting, training, and performance management.
• Process improvements and SOP development and documentation.
