Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited is seeking an Assistant VP (System Development) to lead application development and support for critical post-trade systems on the IBM mainframe. The role involves collaboration with multiple IT teams, vendors and business users to deliver new services and manage technology obsolescence.

The ideal candidate has extensive mainframe experience, SDLC expertise, and strong project management skills, with advantageous knowledge of microservices, cloud platforms

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years' system development and support experience.
• Solid development experience in z/OS, DB2, COBOL, CICS, Easytrieve Plus, JCL, CA-7 and MQ.
• Knowledge and experience in Java, Javascript, Linux scripting, REST API and Springboot framework; Microservices architecture and Cloud platform including Kubernetes and containerized applications; DevOps tools and practices such as Jenkins, Jira, GitLab, JUnit, SonarQube, Docker.

Responsibilities

• Perform business requirement analysis, resource estimation, system design, application development, testing, system rollout and documentation
• Design and develop systems with mainframe and integrate with other modern technologies or platforms
• Conduct quality assurance review on system design and project deliverables
• Collaborate with other IT teams, business users and vendors on testing and support activities during the project development
• Assist supervisor in managing project risks and implement mitigation measures accordingly
• Adhere to organization policies and standards for fulfillment of compliance requirements
• Coach and supervise developers
• Provide production support and resolve production incidents
• Acquire and equip with the necessary technical skills to support future state of post-trade systems built in open platform with microservices architecture
• Undertake assignments and projects as assigned by supervisor
