Job summary

Time Seventeen is building infrastructure for geopolitical and catastrophe risk, based in Hong Kong. We seek a senior engineer to own critical systems at the crossroads of market data, execution, and product.

You will shape architecture while remaining close to implementation, ensuring reliable operation and clear ownership across research, engineering, markets, and risk. You will design time-sensitive services, improve observability and testing, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record owning ambiguous, technically demanding projects end to end.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable services for time-sensitive financial workflows.
• Set a high bar for system reliability, observability, testing, and code quality.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions and carry them through implementation.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product and market teams.
• Document important decisions, assumptions, and limitations for future review.
