The Group Internal Audit Department (GIA) provides a systematic, risk-based audit framework to assess and report on the Group’s controls, governance, business and financial risk management processes. By supporting the Assistant Vice President, Internal Audit (Construction & Development), the Senior Manager, Internal Audit (Construction & Development) will lead construction and development project audits and provide assurance on risk management, internal controls and governance systems throughout the Shangri-La Group.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise internal construction and development project audits, covering contract compliance, risk assessment, progress and cost monitoring, vendor prequalification, procurement and tendering, design approvals, health and safety monitoring, KPI reporting, project handover and post‑mortem reviews.
  • Conduct quantity survey analysis and ensure compliance with contract requirements, following up corrective actions for identified issues.
  • Plan and manage audit assignment performance to evaluate and provide assurance on risk management, internal controls and governance effectiveness.
  • Ensure audit work aligns with schedules and department policies and professional practice standards.
  • Draft and review audit reports, identifying root causes, making recommendations and facilitating practical corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with company management, internal and external parties to ensure timely completion of the audit plan.
  • Articulate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely in presentations.
  • Identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities to refine audit scope and support the Group’s Integrated Assurance Framework (IAF).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, engineering, quantity surveying or related discipline.
  • Qualified Class 1 or Class 2 Cost Engineer of PRC and/or Chartered Professional of Quantity Surveyor (QS) with MRICS or HKIS is an advantage.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in construction/property project management or audit, preferably with global organizations or professional services firms; hospitality industry experience an advantage.
  • Minimum four years in a managerial role, demonstrating leadership and team coaching abilities.
  • Excellent time and project management skills; experience in leading co‑sourcing projects with external consultants an advantage.
  • Self‑motivated, independent, detail‑oriented with effective problem‑solving skills.
  • Fast learner with a willing attitude, resilience and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong analytical skills to present complex data clearly and concisely.
  • Willingness to travel for business to China and non‑China regions.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; strong command of Mandarin essential and proficiency in Cantonese a plus.
