Job summary

TEKsystems client is seeking a strong Backend Engineer in Hong Kong to join their team. You will engage in hands-on development and coordinate with junior developers for code reviews within an Agile environment.

The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java applications, with emphasis on RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable architectures. Cloud experience with AWS/Azure and strong English/Chinese communication are important.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field.
• 3–5 years for Senior AP / 6+ years for SA in system design and development.
• Solid experience with J2EE, RESTful APIs, microservices, and Java frameworks.
• Experience with JIRA/Agile deployment and cloud development on AWS/Azure.
• Experience in IT/Finance/Government projects is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and bilingual communication (English/Chinese).

• Solid experience in J2EE multi-tier / Microservices architecture, Restful API, Oracle DB, Java applications Framework such as Spring Boot would be an advantage;
• Experience with JIRA/Agile deployment approach, Devops architecture and AWS / Azure cloud development/deployment is an advantage;
• Experience in IT/ Finance/ Government projects is a significant advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
