Job summary

Leadingnation is seeking a Senior Claims Manager in Hong Kong to lead a team in handling complex and high-value insurance claims. The role oversees end-to-end claims operations, mentors staff, and implements strategies balancing accuracy, efficiency and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in claims management, with a proven track record in large portfolios and settlements, and strong knowledge of local regulations. Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree with professional insurance qualifications (FLMI or ICA).
• 8+ years in insurance claims management, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Proven track record managing large, complex claims portfolios and high-value settlements.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex and high-value insurance claims from inception through resolution.
• Supervise and mentor claims staff, providing coaching, performance feedback and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and implement claims handling strategies that balance accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Investigate claims thoroughly to determine liability, assess damages and facilitate appropriate settlements.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, solicitors, medical professionals and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations, contractual obligations and internal policies.
• Analyse claims trends and data to identify process improvements and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for senior management on complex or contentious claims.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Handle escalated customer complaints and disputes with professionalism and resolution-focused approach.
