Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in Hong Kong is seeking a sharp Java developer to master SG Agile practices and cloud platforms. You will work as an independent contributor delivering technical solutions and fixes on the technology roadmap.

The role requires strong Java (Java 21+), Spring Boot, Docker, and Cloud Native skills, plus experience with Agile, TDD, and CI/CD. You will join Asia's development team based in Hong Kong and collaborate with Front/M Middle Office teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with capacity management, performance monitoring, stress testing and production-resilience practices for high-volume platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, prioritize remediation and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills, with ability to clearly communicate with business, operations, risk and technology peers across regions.
• Strong listening and analysis capabilities to assess existing situation/problem definition
• Proven knowledge of Core Java development (Java 21+, Spring Boot)
• Proven experience in Agile, TDD and continuous delivery (Jenkins, Sonar)
• Good knowledge of Domain driven design and Cloud Native applications and Docker
• Knowledge of MongoDB or PostgreSQL, Python 3.9+, Knowledge of UI/UX design and Angular is advantageous.

Department Description

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking is a part of Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS). Securities Financing team is part of MTO organization covering Technology and Operational teams. excellence in our day-to-day services to Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients. The financing dev team oversees development and support of tools used by Equity Prime Brokerage and Security finance traders, sales, and operations staff.The Asia team is composed of 10 developers along with application support analysts across Hong Kong and Tokyo locations. All HK developers are based in dealing room and interact regularly with Front and Middle Office teams. Asia team works in partnership with operational teams to deliver solutions for our business while collaborating with peers across other regional offices.The team is part of a wider "community" of technologists spread across various SG premises. The community is focused on business lines and is capable of transitioning from one application to another based on project and business needs. This "fungi-ng" model provide much needed flexibility to operate in complex environment by leveraging similar toolings and technology platforms that are based on modern cloud-based technologies.

Profile Requirements
