Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an on-site MEP Supervisor for data centre projects. You will oversee day-to-day MEP installations, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure all works meet quality and safety standards to deliver high-availability infrastructure.

With a Bachelor’s in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years in construction (including data centres), you will guide multidisciplinary teams and manage site documentation, inspections and handovers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Services, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years' relevant construction/site experience, including at least 1 year in data centre or other mission-critical facilities.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Proven ability to identify site issues, ensure installation quality, and supervise contractors effectively.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on-site.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-availability construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day MEP installations on site, ensuring compliance with designs, specs and data centre standards.
• Conduct day-to-day construction site administration, maintain technical documents, inspection records and reports.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements and technical submittals with consultants and contractors.
• Ensure all MEP works meet contractual specifications, approved drawings, method statements and statutory requirements.
• Report progress, technical issues and risks to Project Manager; support inspections, testing and handover.
• Supervise contractors' work to ensure compliance with obligations and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors on builders work installation and performance on site with Clerk of Works support.
• Conduct on-site inspections and monitor progress, ensuring quality control of installations.
• Coordinate with consultants/contractors for project execution and defect rectification.
• Provide accurate information for valuation of works, progress claims and variations.

Job Description

This role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all MEP works on-site for data centre construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. The role acts as the technical representative on site, coordinating consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-availability, mission‑critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day MEP installations and construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and data centre standards.
• Carry out day-to-day construction site administration, prepare and maintain technical documents, inspection records, and project reports.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals with consultants and contractors.
• Ensure all MEP works adhere to contractual specifications, approved drawings, method statements, relevant statutory regulations and SLA requirements.
• Report construction progress, technical issues, and risks to the Project Manager, and support site inspections, testing, and handover activities.
• Supervise contractors’ work to ensure their compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors on all matters relating to builders work installation and performance on site with the support of Clerk of Works.
• Conduct on-site inspections and monitor work progress, responsible for quality control of site installation.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors for project execution and defect rectification.
• Provide accurate information and documentation to facilitate valuation of works, progress claims, variations, and cost assessments.
• Full time located at site office.
