Job summary

The University of Hong Kong's Lab of Biomedical Imaging and Signal Processing (BISP Lab – HKU MRI Research Laboratory) invites a Research Assistant II to support data analysis and experimental workflows in a dynamic research setting. You will work with postdocs and students to ensure smooth daily operations and robust pipelines for signal and image processing.

A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/scientific discipline (Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Life Sciences, or related).
• No working experience required.
• Foundational experience with programming languages or software relevant to data analysis and processing (Python, C++, MATLAB, R, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with basic signal processing concepts or digital image manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Routine data analysis and processing.
• Execute and streamline data analysis pipelines for signal and image tasks.
• Assist lab members in data curation, quality control, and preparing datasets for statistics.
• Maintain code repositories or scripts used for standard data pipelines (MATLAB, Python, imaging software).
• Coordinate daily laboratory logistics, equipment usage, and shared resources.
• Assist in preparation, execution, and breakdown of experiments with senior team members.
• Maintain clean, compliant lab workstations following safety protocols.
• Provide ad-hoc technical and administrative support to lab personnel.
• Maintain accurate experimental logs and internal data documentation.
