Job summary

Orange Biotech Limited is seeking a motivated Reagent R&D Engineer to join our expanding team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on hands-on molecular biology, nucleic acid diagnostics and reagent development for POCT products.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of R&D experience and proficiency in PCR, CRISPR and LAMP, with strong communication and collaboration skills in English and Chinese. Willingness to work from Mainland locations supports our ongoing expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, bioengineering, analytical chemistry or related disciplines.
• 2+ years R&D experience in a related field.
• Experience with PCR, CRISPR and LAMP techniques and related workflows.
• Prior reagent development experience for nucleic acid diagnostics is desirable.
• Strong sense of responsibility, adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset, bilingual in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate reagents for nucleic acid diagnostics (PCR, LAMP, CRISPR) for POCT products.
• Conduct routine reagent optimization, nucleic acid lysis, and amplification experiments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IVD reagent and microfluidic chip co-development projects.
• Perform competitor research and market analysis to support product strategy.
• Participate in external collaborations, including occasional business travel for co-development projects.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reagent R&D Engineer to join our growing team at Orange Biotech. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in molecular biology, nucleic acid diagnostics, and reagent development. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to innovative diagnostic solutions while collaborating with partners across the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate reagents for nucleic acid diagnostics (PCR, LAMP, CRISPR, and related technologies) of POCT product.
• Conduct routine reagent optimization, nucleic acid lysis, and amplification experiments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IVD reagent and microfluidic chip co-development projects.
• Perform competitor research and market analysis to support product strategy.
• Participate in external collaborations, including occasional business travel for co-development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Biology, Bioengineering, Analytical Chemistry, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 2 year R&D or working experience.
• Experienced in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, CRISPR, LAMP (design and experimental execution preferred), or other synthetic biology workflows.
• Prior experience in reagent development for nucleic acid diagnostics is highly desirable.
• Strong sense of responsibility, adaptability, and ability to thrive under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese is a strong advantage.
• Willing to work from our Mainland locations as part of our ongoing expansion.
