Job summary

Research Centre for Intelligent GRID and Energy Technologies Limited (I-GET) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to world‑leading research on autonomous energy management, intelligent grids, and green energy technologies in Hong Kong.

The appointees will be assigned to one or more of the sixteen RP projects and will collaborate with PolyU and industry partners, reporting to project leaders while publishing, prototyping, and transferring knowledge.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field.
• Strong publication record in power systems, AI, IoT, edge computing, or energy storage.
• Ability to conduct independent research with interdisciplinary perspective and strong sense of responsibility.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese skills are an advantage.
• Ability to supervise junior researchers and collaborate with project leaders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research in assigned project(s).
• Develop and validate theories, models, algorithms, materials, devices, prototypes, or system solutions.
• Plan and execute research tasks, analyze results, address challenges, and meet milestones.
• Prepare publications, technical reports, proposals, demonstrations, and knowledge transfer outputs.
• Collaborate with local and international partners, and supervise researchers where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Leaders and Centre Directors.
