Job summary

Kaplan Hong Kong is seeking an independent contractor to deliver undergraduate courses in Growing Enterprise, covering SME growth, innovation, entrepreneurship and digital business.

The role requires a Master or Doctoral degree, at least two years of teaching experience, fluency in English, and a willingness to work flexible hours; tax and statutory obligations are the contractor's responsibility. PhD/DBA candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master/Doctoral degree in the related discipline is a MUST.
• At least 2 years’ solid teaching experience in relevant disciplines.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Candidates with PhD/DBA preferred and willing to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver courses for undergraduate level business programs in Growing Enterprise.
• Develop and review teaching materials and coordinate with overseas staff.
• Work with program management to ensure smooth delivery of the module.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to teaching quality.
• Assess coursework and respond to student queries.
• Attend meetings with University staff to discuss performance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Deliver courses for undergraduate level business programs in the subject of Growing Enterprise, covering topics including SME growth theories, innovation and creativity, entrepreneurial systems, e-business, resource management, and growth strategies in both national and international contexts;
• Develop and review teaching and learning materials and co-ordinate with overseas university teaching staff when needed;
• Work closely with program management team in ensuring smooth delivery of the module taught;
• Monitor student progress and contribute to the enhancement of teaching quality and student learning outcomes;
• Assess and mark coursework, assignments, and other assessment components in accordance with established academic standards;
• Respond to student queries in-class and via email;
• Attend periodic meetings with University staff to discuss student performance and module delivery.

Requirements

• Qualified Master/Doctoral degree holder in the related discipline is a MUST, PhD or DBA holder or candidate in same discipline is preferable;
• At least 2 years’ solid teaching experience in the relevant disciplines;
• Candidates with relevant work experiences is preferred;
• Excellent presentation and communication skills;
• Experience in teaching classes with mixed student abilities;
• Fluent in both spoken and written English;
• Willing to work flexible hours.

This engagement is offered on an independent contractor basis. The contractor will not be considered an employee of Kaplan Hong Kong and will be responsible for their own tax, insurance, and statutory obligations as required by applicable laws.
