Job summary

Nex is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to work on sports and active-play experiences for Nex Playground across production games, prototypes, and online multiplayer projects. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and artists to take ideas from concept through implementation, playtesting, and polish.

You will design responsive sport controls using motion algorithms and physics, apply engineering practices, help build connected play features, and explore new ideas

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Solid foundation in software development.

Responsibilities

• Design and build responsive sports controls using motion algorithms, signal processing, and physics-based simulation.
• Apply software engineering practices when developing, testing, and iterating on production features.
• Help build Connected Play features by connecting players, processing motion input, and keeping gameplay synchronized across devices in real time.
• Explore new game ideas through research and prototyping, and build tools that improve game development workflows.
• Share technical knowledge and participate in playtesting, technical discussions, and code reviews.
