Job summary

Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Limited is seeking a Finance Systems Lead to drive NetSuite implementations and ongoing improvements across the financial platform. You will coordinate internal and external teams, oversee UAT, and ensure alignment with accounting standards and business goals.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, experience with finance platforms, and the ability to manage projects end-to-end in a global, ship-management environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
  • Proven experience with the implementation and management of finance & accounting platforms, Oracle NetSuite strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture design and integration across finance and adjacent business systems.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing on in-house and external systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system implementations and upgrades, including planning, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop and manage work plans for internal and external teams assigned to implementation projects.
  • Run user acceptance testing for new systems and system changes, covering in-house and external platforms including NetSuite.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that raise efficiency and accuracy, including standardizing finance processes and system use across the group.
  • Maintain and optimize NetSuite to keep integration, functionality, and business alignment intact.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Finance team on system enhancements and automation across the financial system.
  • Collaborate with Accounts, Human Resources, and IT teams to keep data accurate and aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop the team through coaching and mentorship, and build clear career paths for team members.
  • Report progress and issues to the Head of Financial Systems and upscale risks early

Job description

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that improve current financial business practices aligned with Anglo-Eastern's operational goals
  • Map business requirements to technical designs and identify solution risks across the broad functionality of the platform, including multi-book accounting, fixed assets and lease accounting, foreign exchange accounting, accounts receivables, and accounts payables, invoicing and host-to-host banking connections.
Implementation and Process Improvement
  • Lead system implementations and upgrades, including planning, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop and manage work plans for internal and external teams assigned to implementation projects.
  • Run user acceptance testing for new systems and system changes, covering in-house and external platforms including NetSuite.

System Management and Support

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
  • Proven experience with the implementation and management of finance & accounting platforms, experience with Oracle NetSuite is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture design and integration across finance and adjacent business systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify control weaknesses and implement process improvements.
  • Awareness of how AI and automation apply to finance systems and process improvement.
  • Proven experience in project, vendor, and resource management, particularly in IT system implementations and upgrades.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing on in-house and external systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the people skills to work across leaders and stakeholders in an international organisation.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Flexibility to travel to meet key stakeholders where they work.
