Job summary

Deloitte China in Hong Kong seeks a senior auditor to lead banking and capital markets engagements within the Financial Services Audit & Assurance practice. You will manage audit assignments, oversee client relationships, and deliver high‑quality services with a deep understanding of IFRS/HKFRS and risk topics.

The role requires 8–12 years of Big 4 banking/capital markets audit experience, CPA/HKICPA preferred, and willingness to travel. English is essential; Putonghua or Cantonese helpful.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree; accounting or related major preferred
• CPA qualification with HKICPA preferable
• Eight to twelve years of banking and capital markets audit experience, preferably in the Big 4
• Good understanding of IFRS and/or HKFRS a prerequisite with US GAAP a bonus
• Excellent analytical skills and strong commitment to delivering high quality audits and client service
• Be mature with initiative and work well in diverse, inclusive teams
• Strong written and spoken English; Putonghua/Cantonese helpful but not required
• Willing to travel

About The Business

Our Hong Kong Financial Services Audit & Assurance group is a team of 300+ professionals with deep technical accounting and financial reporting and audit skills, and a multi-disciplinary team of specialists advising on a range of topics to the financial services industry. Work you'll do

• Assume overall control of audit assignments and day-to-day management of client relationships
• Responsible principally for audit related engagements but sometimes undertake other assurance engagements or engagements of an advisory nature
• Build trust and credibility with stakeholders, while maintaining independence, by developing deep knowledge of their business, understanding their expectations and what matters to them individually
• Deliver high quality services by demonstrating a strong awareness of the global financial services market and the impact of regulation and risk management on business processes and controls
• Actively participate in risk assessment discussions and exercise independent choice in relation to the use of tools, guidance and methodology in delivering the audit
• Participate in business development, including audit tenders as well as in practice management activities, including facilitation of internal training courses.

We are looking for someone with

• Bachelor or master degree. Any discipline considered but accounting or related major preferred
• CPA qualification with certification of HKICPA preferable
• Eight to twelve years of banking and capital markets audit experience, preferably in the Big 4
• Preferably accreditation as Green & Sustainable Finance (GSF) professional recognised by Deloitte
• Good understanding of IFRS and/or HKFRS a prerequisite with US GAAP a bonus
• Excellent analytical skills and strong commitment to delivering high quality audits and an outstanding client service experience
• Be mature, with strong initiative and work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive culture where people are recognised for their contribution
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong sense of teamwork with maturity, proactiveness and commitment
• Strong written and spoken English a requirement with Chinese (Putonghua /Cantonese) expected but not required. This includes technical and business writing, documentation and presentation skills
• Willing to travel
