Job summary

FWD Group in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced professional to support the Customer Onboarding Team within Life Operations. You will screen AML/CTF documents, perform EDD on complex policyholder structures, and handle high-net-worth cases.

You will also oversee onboarding-related projects, educate channels on regulatory requirements, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance and other business units to optimise procedures and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Compliance, Risk Management or related disciplines is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in life insurance sector and knowledge of life insurance operations.
• Experience with case management, regulatory requirements and/or risk mitigations.
• Experience handling high-net-worth applications as case manager is a plus.
• Deep understanding of AML requirements including EDD on complex structures (e.g. multi-layer entity, trust).
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of both spoken and written Chinese & English.
• Strong ownership sense and adaptability; able to work independently with stakeholders.
• Committed team player who can work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of the Customer Onboarding Team under Life Operations; ensure regulatory compliance (AML/CTF).
• Screen pre-underwriting documents and advise on missing AML/CTF items.
• Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) on complex policyholder structures and jumbo/high-net-worth cases.
• Handle EDD for high-risk customers during policyholder services and claims.
• Oversee Ops-related projects (onboarding system enhancements, AI tool development).
• Advise and educate channels on AML/CTF requirements.
• Prepare and review Life Operations procedures; liaise with Risk/Compliance for endorsements.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Strategic Partnership, New Business, Underwriting and Claims.

The Job

• Support the development of the Customer Onboarding Team under Life Operations, which will support business and comply regulatory requirements (e.g. Hong Kong, Macau, Bermuda)
• Screen pre-underwriting document and advise if any missing document from anti-money laundering (“AML”) and counter-terrorist financing (“CTF”) perspective
• Perform enhanced due diligence (“EDD”) including but not limited to applications with complex policyholder structure (e.g. multi-layer entity, trust) and jumbo/high-net-worth cases
• Handle EDD for high risk customers during policyholder services and claims
• Oversight and manage Ops related projects, e.g. Ops system enhancement for onboarding usage, AI tools development, etc.
• Advise and educate channels on AML/CTF requirements
• Prepare and review procedures in Life Operations
• Liaise with Risk and Compliance to seek endorsement for updated procedure manuals of Life Operations
• Work closely with stakeholders across various business units including but not limited to Compliance, Strategic Partnership, New Business and Underwriting, Life Administration and Claims
• Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned

The Person

• Degree holder in Business, Compliance, Risk Management and/or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in life insurance sector and with knowledge on life insurance operations
• Possess working experience related to case management, regulatory requirements and/or risk mitigations
• Experience in handling high-net-worth application as case manager is definitely a plus
• Deep understanding of AML requirements including EDD on complex structure (e.g. multi-layer entity, trust…)
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Good command of both spoken and written Chinese & English
• Possess strong sense of ownership, adaptive to change
• Confident to deal with various business stakeholders independently
• A committed team player who is able to work under pressure and is determined to meet deadlines
