Job summary

Ailytics is seeking an experienced engineer to own, scale, and advance our generative AI capabilities. You will fine-tune LLMs, VLMs and vision models, building new features and laying down the architecture on which everything else is built.

You will own deployment, optimize for latency and cost, and design evaluation pipelines. This role requires leadership to grow a team and to work closely with CTO, Product Managers, and senior management to shape the product's direction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a computer vision or machine learning engineer, with at least 2 years focused on generative AI.
• Strong proficiency in Python with solid data structures and software engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience fine-tuning open-weight foundation models such as VLMs/LLMs or vision models.

Responsibilities

• Fine-tune, adapt and experiment with LLMs, VLMs, large vision models and other foundation models to meet product and accuracy requirements.
• Build new functionality and deliver genuinely new generative AI features from first idea to customer use.
• Optimise accuracy, robustness, latency and inference cost on deployed models in real time.
• Own the architecture and the deployment, integrating with the computer vision stack and taking models from experiment to production.
• Build the evaluation discipline with rigorous benchmarks and eval harnesses to prove improvements.
• Curate and refine datasets, including training/evaluation data, augmentation strategies and labeling quality.
• Set the standard and build the team by hiring and mentoring engineers to scale the function.
