Job summary

Jump Trading Group is seeking a senior Lead Data Analyst to build a world-class data platform and lead a team of analysts across researchers, traders, and engineers. You will own data quality, tagging, documentation, and proactive analysis to support decision-making in a dynamic trading environment.

The role requires deep data expertise, leadership, and strong communication, with hands-on involvement in complex data problems and collaboration with engineering to automate pipelines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on data experience in the financial industry.
• 3+ years leading complex projects and analysts.
• Experience collecting, tagging, and cleaning data; trading firm or data vendor experience preferred.
• Familiarity with alternative data, fundamental data, market data, and reference data.
• Expertise in at least one asset class (e.g., equities, options, futures, ETFs, FX).
• Strong Python, SQL, and Excel skills.
• Experience using modern AI tools to accelerate data collection, cleaning, tagging, and research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team work: translate researcher/trader requests into defined projects and drive them to completion.
• Own data quality: set standards for collection, tagging, documentation and validation.
• Guide analysts: assign work, provide feedback, and coach on data research methods and AI tools.
• Stay hands-on: tackle the most ambiguous data problems and model curiosity and rigor.
• Serve as main contact for the team: communicate findings and status to stakeholders.
• Partner with data engineers to automate workflows and keep human-in-the-loop reviews.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
