Be Myjob Company Limited in Hong Kong seeks an experienced IT-business liaison for FICC operations. You will translate business needs into technology solutions and work with IT and business teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in CS/SE/IT from a reputable institution.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience; knowledge of FICC asset classes is a plus.
  • Strong coding skills in Java and Python with modern frameworks.
  • Experience integrating financial market data APIs (e.g., Bloomberg/Reuters).
  • Familiarity with Agile development and testing best practices.
  • Excellent English communication; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between FICC stakeholders and IT to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform gap analyses between current and future state processes and tech.
  • Collaborate with development managers and cross‑functional teams to design and validate solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to support delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Support project managers with estimates, risks, and early escalation of delays.
  • Follow standards for version control, CI and release management.
  • Maintain design documents, user guides, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure software deliverables are covered by unit tests and tested before QA/UAT.
  • Coordinate with production support on releases, issue mgmt, and post-release follow-up.

Job description

Serve as a liaison between FICC stakeholders and the IT department, translating business needs into technology solutions that support FICC operations and priorities.

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, and identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.

Perform gap analyses between current-state and future-state business processes and technology solutions.

Collaborate with development managers and cross-functional teams to design, review, and validate technical solutions.

Evaluate and adopt new technologies and frameworks to support project delivery and continuous improvement.

Support project managers by providing reliable estimates, proactively surfacing risks, and escalating potential delays/issues early.

Follow established standards for version control, continuous integration, and release management.

Maintain accurate records and documentation, including design documents, support materials, user guides, and operational procedures.

Ensure software deliverables are supported by comprehensive unit tests and undergo rigorous testing prior to deployment to QA/UAT environments.

Coordinate with production support teams on release activities, issue management, and post-release follow-up.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an IT-related discipline from a reputable institution.

8–10 years of relevant experience; knowledge of FICC asset classes is an advantage.

Development experience with Java 8 (or later) and Python 3.

Experience with one or more Java frameworks, such as Spring and/or Vert.x.

Working knowledge of unit testing frameworks and testing best practices.

Experience integrating financial market data APIs (e.g., Bloomberg and/or Reuters).

Good to have: Python and other scripting languages.

Familiarity with Agile development artifacts and best practices.

Ability to balance requirements-driven delivery with technical debt reduction initiatives.

Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
