Job summary

Dentons is seeking a Global Security Operations Engineer to strengthen threat detection and incident response across its APAC region and global environment. Based in Hong Kong, you will lead advanced investigations, develop detection capabilities, and implement automation to drive an intelligence-led security operating model.

You will work with distributed teams, provide technical leadership during major incidents, and contribute to continuous security improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering.
• Proven leadership of complex investigations end-to-end from escalation to remediation.
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM and EDR, including authoring and optimizing detection logic.
• Strong automation and scripting abilities (KQL, PowerShell, Python).
• Experience designing automated response playbooks using Logic Apps or SOAR.
• Advanced knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and PICERL methodologies.
• Solid networking and OS knowledge (Windows, Linux), Entra ID, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex security investigations and act as escalation point for high-severity events.
• Design, tune, and maintain detection content aligned to MITRE ATT&CK; reduce false positives.
• Develop automation and playbooks to speed detection and response (SOAR).
• Perform threat hunting and proactive investigation of suspicious activity.
• Coordinate global and regional teams during significant incidents and post-incident remediation.
• Translate technical findings into business risk statements for leadership.
