Job summary

South China Morning Post is seeking a digital production editor to optimise and distribute content across our digital platforms from Hong Kong. You will join the Digital Production team to tell stories from Hong Kong, China and globally.

You will manage content flow, edit for accuracy, and rewrite headlines with SCMP style, while scheduling content for key markets and exploring new formats such as video and podcasts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Journalism or related discipline; minimum 3 years digital editing experience in English.
• Solid news judgment.
• Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Knowledge of China and wider Asia news, plus global affairs.
• Team player; able to work under deadline pressure.
• Versatile mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Understand SEO best practices.
• Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms.
• Experience using Google Analytics and similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage digital content flow with instinct for audience appetites.
• Use data and analytics to guide content decisions.
• Monitor content quality and edit as required.
• Rewrite headlines quickly with SCMP style.
• Schedule and target content to key markets via the SCMP digital product suite.
