Job summary

DayOne is seeking a seasoned HVAC/thermal management professional to drive the evolution of modular cooling solutions for data centers. You will lead the transition from traditional site-built cooling to high-efficiency modular skids and liquid cooling interfaces for demanding operators worldwide.

The role requires deep expertise in data center thermal management, PUE optimization, and knowledge of industry standards (OCP, ASHRAE).

Qualifications

• ~10 years of HVAC design/product planning experience with modular cooling systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data center thermal management, including PUE optimization and high-density liquid cooling.
• Strong ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and productize modular AHUs, chiller plants, and CDUs for plug-and-play installation in high-density data centers.
• Anticipate and integrate trends toward liquid cooling and hybrid architectures.
• Coordinate technical requirements between hyperscalers and equipment vendors to ensure product-market fit.
• Ensure modular products are field-delivery friendly to reduce on-site labor and commissioning time.

Role Objective

Drive the evolution of modular cooling solutions. This role is for a product enthusiast who specializes in standardized mechanical architectures. You will lead the transition from traditional site-built cooling to high-efficiency modular cooling skids and liquid cooling interfaces, tailored for the world's most demanding data center operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Modular Cooling Development: Design and productize modular AHUs, Chiller plants, and CDUs that allow for "plug-and-play" installation in high-density environments.
• Trend Integration: Anticipate the industry’s shift toward liquid cooling and hybrid architectures, ensuring modules are flexible enough to accommodate both Air and Liquid heat rejection.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate technical requirements between major end-users (hyperscalers) and equipment vendors to ensure product-market fit.
• Project Oversight: Ensure that modular products are designed with field-delivery in mind, reducing on-site labor and commissioning time.

Qualifications

• Experience: ~10 years in HVAC design/product planning with specific expertise in modular cooling systems.
• Systems Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of data center thermal management, including PUE optimization and high-density liquid cooling. Market Sensitivity: Acute awareness of global industry standards (OCP, ASHRAE) and regional regulatory requirements in different places.
• Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional technical teams.
