Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking an experienced security professional to join our APAC Production Security team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on designing and implementing robust security use cases, threat hunting, and incident response across complex environments.

You will lead detection efforts, collaborate with global and regional stakeholders, and contribute to policy and playbook improvements. English fluency required; experience with Java and SIEM is key for this position.

Job description

Join our APAC Production Security team and play a key role in safeguarding IT operations for our clients in the Asia Pacific region. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security frameworks, ensuring robust detection and response capabilities across complex environments.

Your Missions

• Lead technical activities for security use case definition, design, implementation, and enrichment based on real-world attack scenarios and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Propose and develop security use cases to detect, protect, or mitigate ongoing security threats.
• Conduct research and threat hunting to enhance detection capabilities within the IT Production Security Investigation & Incident Response team.
• Oversee and support the 24/7 regional IT Production SOC in maintaining a strong security detection posture.
• Respond to cyber and IT security incidents, evaluating the type and severity of security events.
• Identify recurring security issues and risks, develop mitigation plans, and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with global, regional, and local stakeholders to ensure organizational and procedural efficiency for detection and response to suspicious events.
• Continuously review and improve SOC policies and operational playbooks to strengthen the current security framework.

Your Profile

• Experience as a security professional (7 years+).
• Experience in security use case design and development, with understanding of Java language.
• Proficiency in Linux environments (RedHat/Ubuntu).
• Ability to interpret security logs and translate instructions into threat models; SecOPS-DevOPS mindset and skills.
• Experience in incident investigation, remediation, tracking, and closure with relevant teams and stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of security technologies and concepts, with hands‑on experience in SIEM products and security incident management.
• Experience in incident response activities, including threat hunting, event analysis, investigation, and reporting.
• Comfortable working with large data sets for collection, analysis, and response; ability to create content, use cases, and models with an automation mindset.
• Fluent in English. Additional Asian languages are a plus.
