Job summary

CICC in Hong Kong seeks a credit risk professional to assess client credit for wealth management, review margin terms, and monitor exposures. You will evaluate risk models across product families and contribute to policy updates while communicating with front office and internal departments.

The role requires strong analytical skills, solid communication, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks. Fluency in Chinese and English is essential; FRM/CFA certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1-8 years of relevant credit risk management experience within an investment bank or financial institution.
  • Familiar with financial markets and products such as cash equities, derivatives, fixed income, commodities, and futures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client’s credit assessment for wealth management business.
  • Assist in reviewing and negotiating credit terms on margin loan, structured products and OTC derivatives agreements.
  • Review and assess margin rules methodologies for different products (equity, bond, options, fund, structured products).
  • Review and assess credit limits and rating and provide recommendations for credit limit approval.
  • Prepare daily credit reports and monitor credit exposures.
  • Review and update credit risk management policy and procedures and ensure effective risk controls.

Job description

  • Conduct client’s credit assessment for wealth management business
  • Assist in reviewing and negotiating credit terms on margin loan, structured products and OTC derivatives agreements
  • Review and assess margin rules methodologies for different products, e.g., equity, bond, options, fund, structured products for margin business
  • Review and assess credit limits and rating as well as providing recommendations to senior management for credit limit approval
  • Prepare daily credit reports and monitor credit exposures
  • Review and update credit risk management policy and procedures, ensure the effective implementation of credit risk controls
  • Conduct regular credit risk stress testing and risk screening to identify potential risks
  • Conduct credit risk assessment on new products/businesses applications
  • Support ad-hoc requests from business departments and other internal clients
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or above in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field
  • 1-8 years of relevant credit risk management experience within an investment bank or financial institution
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and products, including but not limited to, cash equities, equities derivatives, fixed income, commodities and futures etc.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements related to credit risk management
  • Sound and solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess counterparty risk models
  • Proven potential leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with front office and other internal departments
  • Solid communication and presentation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
  • Professional certifications such as FRM or CFA are desirable
  • Familiar with SFC requirements on brokerage and margin financing business
