Job summary

ICBC (Asia) in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced credit risk professional to conduct due diligence and fundamental analysis on borrowers and financial institutions. The role involves evaluating credit terms, structuring deals, and preparing recommendations for credit approvals.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in credit risk management, with strong knowledge of derivatives and financial markets, and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• University graduate with major in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of credit risk management experience, especially counterparty FI credit risk.
• Solid knowledge of financial market derivative products and key risk factors.
• Strong fundamental financial analysis skills.
• HKICPA, ACCA, CFA, FRM are preferred.
• Self-motivated, independent with analytical mindset under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills with senior management.
• Excellent English and Chinese language skills, including Putonghua.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit due diligence and fundamental analysis on borrowers and trading counterparties, especially credit assessment on financial institutions (Banks and non-bank FIs)/Mutual Fund/Private Equity.
• Conduct analysis on the deal and major credit terms including OTC transactions, Money market products and Debt securities to assess credit exposures.
• Evaluate and challenge credit limit proposals and prepare credit opinions/recommendations to credit approvers based on risk and mitigation summary.
• Ensure credit requests are assessed with respect to internal and external requirements including approval within delegated authority.
• Participate in cross-department projects and provide guidance as a subject matter expert on credit risk issues.
