Job summary

Baker Tilly Hong Kong is seeking a professional to join its Financial Advisory (Forensic) Services to support commercial litigation, forensic accounting investigations, cybersecurity risk assessment and capital flow tracking. You will conduct interviews, gather financial data, review documents and prepare investigation reports for use in legal proceedings.

The role requires a bachelor degree or above in related disciplines, with 2+ years of investigative experience and strong bilingual

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Law or related disciplines.
  • Preferably HKICPA/ACCA/CICPA/CFE or relevant qualification, but not mandatory.
  • At least 2 years' experience in forensic/law field or related investigative work or internal audit with exposure to fraud inquiries.
  • Ability to assess results of analysis and other investigative procedures to identify potential impact.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); good documentation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with high commitment to quality client service.
  • Fast learner with multitasking and organizational skills; able to work in different service lines and industries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Job description

A career within Financial Advisory (Forensic) Services will provides you with the opportunity to support our clients on commercial litigation, forensic accounting investigation, cybersecurity risk assessment and capital flow tracking. We often work jointly with professional parties across different industries to develop appropriate strategies in assignments to help our client to resolve disputes by providing accounting or financial investigation and capital fund tracking support.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interviews with varies parties independently
  • Collect and verify the financial information and prepare analysis report
  • Review financial, operational, and legal documents to identify potential risks and areas for investigation
  • Conduct forensic investigations to uncover financial fraud, embezzlement, and other financial misconduct
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and documentation of findings for use in legal proceedings
  • Attend meetings with varies professional parties
  • Mentor and guide subordinates
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Law or related disciplines;
  • Preferably with certification of HKICPA, ACCA, CICPA, CFE or relevant qualification, but not a must;
  • At least 2 years' experience in forensic/law field, or related work of an investigative nature or internal audit with exposure to fraud enquires;
  • Ability to assess the results of analysis and other investigative procedures to identify the potential impact;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), including both technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with high commitment to quality client service;
  • Fast learner, strong multitasking and organizational skills, with flexibility and adaptability to work in different service lines and on different industries;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), including both technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills;
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and deadline and result-driven;
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
