Qualifications

3+ years in a commodities-focused analytical role in buy-side/sell-side or trading environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
Strong understanding of Chinese commodity markets and macroeconomic drivers.
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data handling, modelling, and visualization.
Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar market intelligence platforms.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed fundamental and macroeconomic analysis across Chinese and global commodity markets.
Develop understanding of commodity value chains, supply/demand dynamics, and trade flows.
Track regulatory developments and government policy relevant to commodity markets.
Identify catalysts and structural developments impacting markets.
Generate trading ideas based on volatility and market direction with traders.
Monitor supply/demand, inventories, shipping, policy changes, and market factors.
Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and research tools using Python, SQL, and analytics platforms.
