Job summary

Jane Street in Hong Kong is seeking an energetic Legal Counsel to join the Legal and Compliance team, focusing on our China business development. You will draft, review and negotiate trading-related contracts for our Asia business while providing clear guidance to teams across the firm.

Required 3–8 years PQE in corporate/finance, strong contract drafting skills, and fluent Mandarin and English. You will liaise with external counsel and negotiate with counterparties in China and beyond,

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of PQE on corporate and/or finance team (derivatives, credit, M&A)
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts
• Excellent writer and speaker; strong negotiator; detail-oriented and organized

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries regarding existing and new contracts
• Provide direct legal support to the desk on new business initiatives
• Liaise with external counsel and external advisers
• Negotiate with counterparties in China and other jurisdictions
• Advise colleagues across our office locations worldwide
