Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve the company’s software asset management framework, policies, standards, and processes
- Own the management of accurate software inventory, entitlement, usage, and contract data
- Analyse software usage, entitlement, contract, and spend data to identify cost optimisation, and compliance improvement opportunities
- Support the planning and execution of software license renewals, and ensure renewal requirements are appropriately validated against actual business need
- Review key software contracts, license agreements, enterprise agreements, and vendor terms to identify commercial risks, obligations, and opportunities
- Maintain visibility of upcoming software renewals, notice periods, contract obligations, and commercial milestones
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Digital teams to develop cost reduction plans, track savings, and forecast future demand and budget impacts including developing negotiation strategies for strategic software vendors (including but not limited to Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow etc.)
- Monitor software license compliance across key vendors, products, platforms, and business areas
- Support internal and external software audits, including vendor audits, true-ups, and compliance reviews
- Identify potential compliance risks and work with relevant stakeholders to agree and implement remediation plans
- Provide commercial insight into vendor licensing models, discount structures, contract terms, and renewal options
- Prepare and present reports on software usage, budget status, and optimization efforts to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in Digital commercial or related experience in software asset management, budget planning, and usage optimization
- Experience in software asset management, IT asset management, software licensing, technology procurement, or supplier commercial management
- Strong understanding of SAM governance frameworks, license compliance, audit readiness, and software lifecycle management, preferably to have experience using software asset management tools and systems
- Good understanding of software licensing models across on-premise, SaaS, cloud, subscription, enterprise agreement, and consumption-based environments. Experience in managing big software publishers’ license such as Oracle, Microsoft, etc. will be a plus
- Proven ability to identify and deliver software cost optimisation, rationalisation, and spend reduction opportunities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good commercial awareness and ability to translate technical and licensing data into financial and procurement insight
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Software Asset Management (e.g., CSAM, CITAM, ITIL)
- Vendor licensing accreditations or certifications, for example Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow will be a plus
