Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years in business development, capital markets advisory, or client relationship management within major accounting firms, boutique investment banks, brokerages, or top-tier professional service firms.
• Strong client network among corporates and capital market intermediaries (sponsors, lawyers, funds).
• Sound knowledge of HKEX listing rules, IPO processes, governance, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Associate Director - Business Development & Corporate Finance

Reporting directly to the Partners, the Associate Director – Business Development & Corporate Finance will play a pivotal role in driving the Firm's growth by identifying, originating, and capturing business opportunities among Chinese Mainland's enterprises with Hong Kong IPO and cross-border financing aspirations. This high-visibility, results-driven leadership role requires a deep understanding of the capital markets landscape, an extensive institutional and intermediary network, and the gravitas to engage directly with C-suite executives and business founders.

Key responsibilities

Proactively identify and engage high-growth Chinese Mainland's enterprises, with a primary focus on mid-to-late stage (Pre-IPO) companies aiming for Hong Kong listings.

Leverage existing professional networks across accounting firms, investment banks, law firms, and PE/VC funds to generate qualified leads and secure mandates for audit, tax, and IPO-related services.

Establish, nurture, and scale strategic referral channels across key capital market intermediaries and industry associations.

Act as a senior point of contact for Chinese Mainland's enterprises clients; lead pitch presentations, commercial negotiations, and fee proposals in close collaboration with Partners.

Work closely with internal Audit, Tax, and Advisory service teams to structure tailored professional service solutions and ensure seamless client onboarding.

Facilitate initial corporate restructurings, pre-IPO health checks, and compliance alignments for Mainland companies establishing a presence or listing in Hong Kong.

Provide end-to-end strategic advisory support from pre-listing planning through post-IPO compliance.

Monitor regulatory developments, listing rule updates, and macro trends across the capital markets to inform the Firm's business development strategy.

Regularly report pipeline developments, conversion rates, and strategic forecasts to the executive leadership team.

About you

Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum 8+ years of proven track record in business development, capital markets advisory, or client relationship management within major accounting firms, boutique investment banks, brokerages, or top-tier professional service firms.

Client network among corporates and capital market intermediaries (sponsors, lawyers, funds) is strongly preferred, backed by a demonstrated ability to convert leads into revenue-generating mandates.

Sound knowledge of HKEX listing rules, IPO processes, corporate governance, and financial reporting requirements.

Fluent in Mandarin, and full understanding of local culture and practices in Chinese Mainland.

Entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial acumen, and exceptional negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Frequent travel to Chinese Mainland is expected.
