Job summary

10 Design, part of the Egis Group, seeks an Architectural Designer to help achieve design excellence and translate briefs into approved design intent. You will ensure documentation conveys the design and complies with local codes and QA/QC procedures.

Join a global team to coordinate between disciplines, manage documentation, and contribute to various scales from buildings to urban planning. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and 3D Max is expected, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and 3D Max.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Mandarin/Cantonese desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with high-rise design advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job Description

An Architectural Designer should aim to achieve design excellence by assisting in the creation of designs that are both appropriate and in line with the companies design philosophy. The role involves ensuring that a building's design intent is fully conveyed by means of any and all appropriate documentation required. The design should fully consider the project brief, site, best architectural practices and local codes and authority to approve in accordance with the companies QA / QC procedures.

Key Objectives

• Understand and properly implement the design principles of projects
• Ensure proper coordination between disciplines and sub-consultants
• Provide a complete set of documents in accordance with the project brief and in consideration of the local codes and approval authorities
• Initiate study and analyze design related issues with regards to spatial organization and efficient utilization of spaces and /or of the functional arrangement of interior units, utilities and appurtenances etc.
• Complete awareness of the project contracts, schedules, and deliverables
• Ensure and implement cost awareness during the design process
• Ensure that all drawings, documents and specifications are done in accordance with the companies QA/QC procedure
• Ensure proper compilation, filing and archiving of documents for each stage submissions as per the standard company procedure
• Ensure constant awareness of current construction and design trends through continuous professional development (CPD)
• To comply with the principles and objectives of the Company's IMS and EPF Manuals where applicable

Qualifications

Education and Training

• Degree educated - RIBA Parts 1, and/or 2 or equivalent
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and 3D Max
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese are highly desirable

Experience

• At least 4 years' experience
• Previous experience in high-rise building design and construction is advantageous
• Previous experience in an office environment working as part of a team is preferred
