Job summary

Barclay Simpson is seeking a Director to lead the Global Markets AI initiative in APAC. The role focuses on building and scaling an AI/ML function within a leading investment bank, with direct PnL impact and front-office alignment.

You will supervise a hybrid team of 4-6, collaborate with senior stakeholders across APAC, and drive design, development, and deployment of AI solutions. The mandate covers quantitative modelling, GenAI, and model governance across markets.

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in AI/ML and hands-on capability when required.
• Proven track record delivering AI/ML solutions in stakeholder-driven environments.
• Experience managing end-to-end AI/ML projects from ideation to deployment and governance.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing AI/ML team supporting Global Markets.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI programmes from ideation through production and governance.
• Partner with trading desks and business leadership to identify and execute high-impact use cases.
• Collaborate across stakeholders, engineering teams, and governance to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Apply advanced ML techniques across price forecasting, recommender systems, RL, and decision-making under uncertainty for PnL impact.
• Deliver initial use cases within FX and scale across asset classes.
• Drive best practice across responsible AI and model governance.
