Join our dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ornithologist across the UK & Ireland. The role involves supporting bids, planning projects, delivering consultancy, developing solutions, providing data for habitat assessments, communicating with clients, authoring deliverables, and maintaining team performance.
- Support preparation of high quality bids for ornithological services in renewable and infrastructure sectors;
- Plan, schedule and organise all phases of bird survey and analysis projects, ensuring resources, budgets and controls are in place to meet programme and budget requirements;
- Deliver ornithological consultancy and advisory services to internal and external clients;
- Develop technically robust and pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues across bird habitats;
- Provide bird data and analysis for Habitats Regulations Assessments;
- Communicate effectively with the ecology team, projects and clients via telephone, electronically, Teams and face‑to‑face meetings;
- Author and/or technically check project deliverables to ensure high quality outputs;
- Maintain team performance and skill sets.
- Proven track record of supporting planning and delivery of ornithology projects in the UK or Ireland;
- Well‑developed understanding of UK or Irish wildlife conservation and related legal and policy frameworks;
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution and evidence of working towards chartership (e.g., CIEEM);
- Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area of ornithology;
- Proactive approach to Health and Safety.
