We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Moorland, a men’s category C prison and young offender institution located in South Yorkshire.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, working three 07:30‑17:30 shifts and one 07:30‑17:00 shift, including one weekend incorporated in the shift pattern.

Salary: Annual salary up to £49,174 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritising patient care and developing individualised care packages through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
• Deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both group and one‑to‑one settings, with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
• Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers; provide advice and information to individuals on a one‑to‑one basis.
• Support group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions; occasionally support dispensing.

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience of working within substance misuse (adapting to prison, community or hospital settings).
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
• Receptive to RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
• Experience of working with opiate‑dependent patients.
• Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
