A prominent healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is looking for a Sterile Technician to ensure the quality and timeliness of sterilized products. Responsibilities include operating sterilization equipment, logging incoming goods, and maintaining a safe working environment. Candidates should possess experience in sterile services and relevant handling training. This position offers a chance to contribute to essential healthcare services in local communities.
1.1. To ensure that all products manufactured in the Sterile Services department within the Trust are fit forpurpose and produced in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with theQuality Management System (QMS) relevant to the area.
1.2. To contribute towards a safe working environment within the departments.
1.3.To work as part of a team andundertake duties as directed by the management team of the Trusts decontamination facilities.
1.4. To work within all of the decontamination facilities within the Trust.
1.5. To work as part of a team in accordance with the agreed QualityProcedures for the departments and to follow instruction where appropriate
1.6.To work in all areas of the decontamination facilities on a day-to-day basis
1.7. To highlight and record any Non Conformances with the departments QMS to a senior member of staff
1.1.To work with the management& supervisors to meet the production needs of the department & its customers
1.2. To comply with all local policies and procedures
1.3. To log all incoming goods into the department via the T-Doc computersystem.
1.4. To check that all equipment is present and correct
1.5. Report any discrepancies to the customer and the department manager/supervisor immediately.
1.6. Complete the relevant documents for any non-conformances.
1.7. To wash and decontaminate instruments according to the departmentspolicies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety and Control ofInfection.
1.8. To be able to identify different pieces of equipment, speciality andthe customer they belong to.
1.9. To repack and prepare instrument sets and packs for theatres andother departments in accordance with the work instructions and standardoperating procedures and the relevant kardex (preference) lists.
1.10.To ensure that packs areclearly identified using the bar coded traceability system.

1.1. To sterilize instrument packs by use of dual temperature steamautoclaves and other sterilizing equipment as necessary. To identify the different types ofequipment for high temp sterilization and low temp sterilization.
1.2. To be able to recognise single use equipment and dispose of asappropriate.
1.3. To be competent in theuse of HSDU/CSSD equipment, including modern industrial washing machines and autoclaves.
1.4. Be able to undertake the necessary tests of the above equipment, i.e Bowie Dick etc.
1.5.Be proficient in the instrumenttracking system.
1.6. To maintain stocks and supplies associated with the sterile servicesdepartments.
1.7. To receive raw materials and distribute raw materials to theproduction area, ensuring that all materials have been booked out in accordancewith the quality procedure.
1.8.To maintain a clean and safeenvironment within the sterile services.
1.9. To be flexible, and ensure that all areas of the working unit areadequately covered.
