Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Cardiff, United Kingdom. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment while supporting our culinary team in food preparation and service.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain high standards of hygiene
• Assist in basic food preparation tasks, such as washing and chopping vegetables
• Operate dishwashing equipment and handle manual dishwashing when necessary
• Properly store kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and organization
• Support the culinary team during food service periods and special events
• Maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas and manage garbage removal
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety guidelines
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
• Perform regular deep cleaning tasks as scheduled

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar role within the food service industry
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices
• Basic food handling and hygiene certification
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and team player mentality
• Customer-focused attitude with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible approach to work
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and culinary terminology
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
