A leading health service provider in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking for a Trust Doctor in Paediatric Oncology. This role involves clinical supervision, administration, and participation in teaching. You will gain valuable training in paediatric oncology and have opportunities for flexible working arrangements. Ideal for someone with a Primary Medical Qualification, at least 12 months of UK-based pediatric middle grade experience, and prior paediatric oncology exposure.
The closing date is 04 December 2025
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well‑integrated team.
This post is suitable for a trainee with knowledge and experience of Paediatric Oncology and Haematology care as well as a solid grounding in Acute Paediatric Medicine. A comprehensive training programme is available within this post, equivalent to the training delivered through the UK National Grid training programme to achieve Specialty Certification. It would also be suitable for an experienced Paediatric Oncology trainee wishing to make their training comprehensive.
In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
As a flexible‑working friendly organisation, we want to ensure you can work in a way that is best for both us and our patients. Speak to us about how we might accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
For an informal discussion and further information regarding the opportunity and Directorate, please contact Dr Quentin Campbell‑Hewson on 0191 2824068 or email Quentin.Campbell‑hewson@nhs.net, or Dr Tasnim Arif on 0191 2824068 or email Tasnim.Arif1@nhs.net.
This post will last 12 months with the expectation of extension. It will provide training in the clinical aspects of Paediatric Oncology and will be based in the Department of Paediatric Oncology (Royal Victoria Infirmary) within the Children’s Directorate of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust.
