We are a growing technology company based in Birmingham, specialising in the resale, implementation, and support of a leading SaaS-based ERP system. Our clients range from mid-sized businesses to enterprise organisations across the UK. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a commercially minded Part-Time Finance Director to bring strategic financial leadership to the business.

This is a hands-on and strategic role reporting directly to the Managing Director. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning and reporting, providing insight to support commercial decisions, and ensuring robust financial controls and compliance as the company grows.

Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and planning

Oversee monthly management accounts, cash flow management, and reporting

Work with the MD to assess commercial opportunities, pricing models, and SaaS metrics

Improve internal financial systems, controls, and reporting processes

Prepare board reports and support investor/shareholder communications

Manage tax, audit, payroll, and external accountant relationships

Support the evaluation of strategic projects, partnerships, and software vendor agreements

Mentor junior finance staff (if applicable) and help shape the future finance function

Qualifications

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Proven experience as Finance Director or senior finance lead in an SME environment

Background in the technology/SaaS/software or ERP/reseller space preferred

Strong understanding of SaaS business models and KPIs (e.g., MRR, churn, CAC, LTV)

Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on within a small, entrepreneurial team

Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ideally based within commuting distance of Birmingham for hybrid working

Flexible, part-time role – 2 days per week (can be structured across days/hours to suit)
