Job summary
A procurement and supply chain firm is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Egginton CP, UK. Our client is committed to efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence. They are looking for a Purchasing Manager who can take ownership of site level procurement, keep suppliers performing, and maintain a smooth and cost effective supply chain.
As Purchasing Manager, you will lead a team of three and manage a site budget of around £10 million. Your focus will be on production buying and keeping the supply chain moving without disruption. You will work closely with internal teams and global procurement to support strategy, improve supplier performance, and keep materials flowing to plan.
- Lead site procurement operations and ensure steady supplier performance.
- Drive procurement strategy and support global procurement planning.
- Manage supplier relationships, carry out negotiations where needed, and resolve performance issues.
- Monitor shortages and act quickly to prevent operational impact.
- Keep purchasing cost effective while maintaining the right inventory levels.
- Align local activity with Global Category Managers.
- Track and report KPIs including On Time Delivery, Cost Savings, Supplier Quality, and Lead Time.
- Develop and support your team through clear direction, coaching, and strong leadership.
This role is centred on production buying. It demands close attention to system accuracy and day to day oversight to keep materials on track. You must ensure the team raises orders on time, secures supplier confirmations, and flags any supplier who misses commitments. You will keep the team focused on system alerts and push for quick supplier follow up.
- BSc in Engineering, Economics, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years in purchasing, production planning, or procurement.
- Experience with ERP systems such as M3 or similar.
- Leadership experience of 5 years or more in procurement or supply chain.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Able to deliver cost reductions and drive process improvements.
- Confident leadership and clear communication.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to work within a global structure
