Job summary

Sheffield United FC is inviting applications for a Zone Coordinator in Zone 4 (Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford). The role is 5 hours per week with a salary of £3,726 per annum.

You will oversee the scouting system, contribute to recruitment strategy, and help build links with grassroots clubs and schools while ensuring compliance with EPPP policies. The coordinator will report to the Head of Academy Local Recruitment and participate in annual scout inductions, trainings, and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proven track record of scouting players of school age.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the scouting system for player identification within Zone 4.
• Help formulate a long-term recruitment plan with Head of Academy Local Recruitment.
• Ensure recruitment staff follow policies under EPPP rules.
• Report progress and issues to Head of Local Recruitment.
• Attend scouting meetings and CPD as required.

Our Academy Recruitment Department have the opportunity for Zone Coordinator to join our team in the Zone 4 Area (Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford).

The Zone Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the scouting system for player identification within the relevant scouting zone, contributing to the overall recruitment strategy here at Sheffield United Football Club. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of talent within their locality in addition to strong organisation and coordination skills.

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the scouting system for player identification within a particular scouting zone.
• Help formulate a long‑term recruitment plan under the direction of the Head of Academy Recruitment and in accordance with the Academy Recruitment Strategy.
• To have an overall responsibility for ensuring that the structure created for recruitment produces outstanding players.
• Support the Head of Local Recruitment to improve links with local grassroots clubs, schools, district teams, leagues and other providers.
• Ensure all recruitment staff are following set policies and procedures to ensure the recruitment process is acting within the rules of the EPPP.
• Report back to the Head of Local Recruitment regularly on any progress made or issues identified.
• Be available for scouting duties as and when required.
• Attend the annual scout's induction event as well as scout meetings as required.
• To attend CPD as required.
• Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
• Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
• Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
• Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
• Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all‑encompassing.
• Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role‑specific safety instruction.

Essential criteria for the role

• An enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Proven track record of scouting players of school age and the process involved.
• Coaching experience.
• Understanding of Academy rules and regulations.
• Strong organisation and coordination skills.

Desirable criteria for the role

• Local knowledge of grassroots football across the area of West Yorkshire.
• Extensive contacts within your designated area.
