Job description

We are looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to support a gentleman in the HU3 area of Hull. The gentleman is a wheelchair user and requires assistance with all aspects of his personal care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with personal care needs such as dressing, washing, toileting, and meals.
  • Support him during walks, observing cars and buses, enjoying lively music, and other positive activities.
  • Assist with domestic tasks the gentleman cannot perform, including laundry and cleaning.
  • Use the hoist as instructed by the gentleman’s mother, the main carer.
  • Follow guidance from the gentleman’s mother and work under her direction.
Qualities & Qualifications
  • Cheerful disposition and the ability to engage the gentleman in activities he finds interesting.
  • Sensitivity to his feelings and an understanding of his communication style.
  • Reliable and consistent in providing care.
  • Willingness to learn what he finds engaging and to adapt support accordingly.
  • Ability to provide high‑quality physical care and understand his particular care needs.
  • Prepared to work closely with his mother and adhere to her instructions.
  • Successful completion of a DBS check (cost covered by the local authority/employer).

To be considered, you must be available to work on a full‑time / part‑time basis and be able to relocate to Hull. The successful applicant will be employed subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
