Job summary

A home care organization in Hull is looking for a Personal Assistant to support a gentleman with daily care needs. About the Role

One Personal Assistant (PA) is required for a gentleman in the HU3 area of Hull. This gentleman is a wheelchair user and needs help with all aspects of his life, including personal care. The gentleman does not use speech, but can make his feelings known. He responds well to people who are of a cheerful disposition and involve him in a positive way in what is going on. He likes going out for walks, seeing cars and buses, lively music, and being entertained.

His mum is his main carer and will guide the PA in how to assist the gentleman. She will ensure the PA knows how to meet the gentleman’s care needs, including using the hoist that he requires to lift him.

The PA role falls into two parts: first, meeting all aspects of the gentleman’s personal care needs including dressing, washing, toileting and meals; second, assisting around the house with domestic tasks that the gentleman cannot do, including laundry and cleaning.

Employment Conditions

Successful applicants will be employed subject to a DBS check. The offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service; the cost of which will be met by the local authority/employer.
