Job summary

Job description
Overview

Axcis Education is currently looking for a youth worker who wants to transition into school settings, to work at an alternative provision based in West Lancashire. The role involves working 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday, either 1‑1 or in small groups, as a full‑time position starting in the new year and continuing until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Support secondary pupils who cannot remain in mainstream education.
  • Deliver classroom‑based work in the morning and facilitate extra‑curricular activities in the afternoon.
  • Work with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other SEND needs such as autism, ADHD and learning difficulties.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and support the school’s focus on challenging behaviour when it occurs.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience working with SEMH needs is essential.
  • Experience working with children or young adults is required.
  • Preferable experience with challenging behaviour or de‑escalation techniques.
  • Driver with access to a private vehicle is ideal.
  • Must be suitably qualified for the position and prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay starts from £13.69 per hour.
