Job description
Role Overview

Oldham Council is seeking a dynamic Youth Worker to deliver high-quality youth work focused on community and outreach settings.

You’ll be responsible for delivery of diverse youth work in a variety of settings including centre‑based and outreach working. The purpose is to support the holistic development of young people, enabling them to make positive choices and develop their voice and influence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high quality youth work in communities across Oldham, aiming to meet the identified needs of young people.
  • Delivery of high quality youth work for young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of youth work methods.
  • Work directly with young people in the planning and delivery of projects that will challenge, stimulate and provide new learning opportunities.
  • Work evenings and weekends, including residential work, with a minimum of 80% of the time being face‑to‑face work and 3 evenings a week including Friday.
Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will be able to:

  • Education & Qualifications: Relevant Youth / Community Work qualification or willing to work towards (Essential), JNC for Youth & Community Work qualified at Level 2 equivalent or above or willing to work towards (Desirable).
  • Experience: Experience of working with young people aged 8-25 years.
  • Work Circumstances: Prepared to work evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
