Job summary

Barnardo's, in partnership with the Co‑op, is delivering Plymouth Change Makers to support young people aged 10–25 and help them build positive futures. We are recruiting a dynamic ‘As and When’ Project Worker to run groupwork sessions that boost mental wellbeing, run cookery activities with surplus food, and help organise events that develop skills and confidence.

The role is flexible and may include evenings, weekends and half terms.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging with young people aged 10–25.
• Inclusive, kind and non-judgemental approach.
• Ability to provide emotional and practical support in safeguarding contexts.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support groupwork sessions to boost mental wellbeing.

We are recruiting a dynamic ‘As and When' Project Worker, who can support us to deliver our service in Plymouth – Plymouth Change Makers.

Plymouth Change Makers has been designed by young people, for young people.

The role is flexible with opportunities to support the team in running groupwork sessions designed to support and improve young people's mental wellbeing, fun cookery sessions using surplus, redistributed foods and support to run events that young people can access to develop skills and confidence.

Groupwork sessions may be running during evenings, weekends and during half terms.

We are looking for applicants who are:

• Confident and creative in engaging and working alongside young people aged between 10-25 years.
• Inclusive, kind and non-judgemental in their approach to engaging with young people.
• Able to provide emotional and practical support to young people, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends where required to meet the needs of the service.
