Job summary

Kingston College is seeking a Youth Worker to contribute to a varied programme for students. The role involves co-leading and delivering activities, supporting the Enrichment Hub and delivering personal development activities to foster positive behaviour and attitudes.

You will plan and deliver enrichment activities, lead on events, and run student workshops and tutorials. The post may involve travel to other South Thames Colleges Group sites, with a closing date of 10 September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to Level 3 or above in Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG.
  • Experience delivering activities to young people aged 16–18 from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to services for students identified through safeguarding processes and support enrichment spaces.
  • Lead planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to enhance the student experience.
  • Deliver student workshops, presentations or tutorials.

Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The department has a student orientated culture and puts students' needs at the heart of everything it does.

Youth Worker

We're now looking for a Youth Worker - someone to contribute to a wide and varied programme, which will include co-leading and delivering a range of activities to students.

Key Duties
  • Contribute to the service where required, working with students identified through safeguarding processes, supporting social spaces including the Enrichment Hub, and delivering personal development activities which support developing positive behaviour and attitudes amongst students.
  • Lead on the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to support and enhance the student experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver student workshops, presentations or tutorials.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified to Level 3 or above in an appropriate subject (Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG) and have experience of working with and delivering activities to young people predominantly 16-18, from a variety of backgrounds and understanding the needs and issues surrounding them.
  • Experience of youth and community work/enrichment and/or targeted assessment, intervention and support, and of positively engaging young people and working with them to improve behaviour, skills and confidence in challenging situations.

Although this role is primarily based at Kingston College, you may be required to travel to or work from any of the South Thames Colleges Group sites.
